Is Nest compatible with SimpliSafe?

Does SimpliSafe call the police?

Self-monitoring fails when you are in a compromised position and cannot contact the police. With SimpliSafe's professional monitoring and police dispatch, they call you when the alarm is triggered. If the secondary contact doesn't answer, then a SimpliSafe representative calls 911.

Does SimpliSafe camera require WiFi?

Yes, SimpliSafe has its own separate wireless communication between components. So WiFi is not necessary to trigger an alarm siren. If you do want to have Monitoring, though, the Base Station also has built-in cellular, which it can use to send signals to dispatch even without WiFi.

Can you talk through SimpliSafe camera?

It appears as of the latest app update, Simplisafe has finally enabled 2 way audio via the Simplicams. I have 3 and all of them now show a microphone icon (push and hold to talk) and have tested them all via the Android app. Previously, you could only hear audio thru the cams.

Why is my SimpliSafe camera offline?

If you have an issue where the camera states OFFLINE. The issue is on the Simplisafe side. To check if your camera is offline, Select Camera Settings - Select the camera - look above the name of the camera you will see a red triangle with exclamation mark and the word offline.

Does SimpliSafe require Internet?

Do I need to have a computer or a wireless Internet connection to use SimpliSafe? No. Everything you need to set up the SimpliSafe Home Security System is included. If you do have access to a computer, you will have access to additional features and settings, but it is not required.
